The original wine label blackout poem "Ballet", by Philip James. Sharpie on wine label. Signed by the artist.
The process for these wine label poems is an expression of the care taken in the production of the wine. The artist starts by selecting a bottle of wine, one that matches the artist's premise for the piece and which has a label with sufficient text to make a blackout poem. After consuming the bottle, the label is carefully baked off the bottle, applied to a sheet of paper, and then crafted into a poem with Sharpie.
